As the owner of SurfSmart, Inc. a web development company, I have set up too many websites for clients who pay me for the design and development, only to watch the website sit and produce no income. The client gives up because they can’t make any income or keep up with the marketing to keep their website attracting visitors. They have no more budget to spend to keep the website updated and they lose interest and quit. All their hard work of building content wasted.
And then on the other side of the spectrum, I am frustrated, as so many web searchers are, with too many portals and websites being built that were strictly for the purposes of getting clicks on ads that provided no content or value to the visitor. I want to see more people who have a passion or extensive knowledge about a subject or location building websites that are helpful to the visitor but can also provide a nice income through ads and affiliates.

So the concept of Smart Directories was born. Smart Directories creates a partnership between web developer, web marketer and SEO specialist, content manager, and web manager for a win win solution. Rather than having to pay too much for a website and then not be able to maintain it or get it ranked, we offer Content Managers an opportunity to be part of a team that is geared towards success. We build the website, maintain the backend, host the site on our server, register the domain (if needed), market and advertise, set up and maintain Google adsense keeping up with trends for optimum placement and clickability.
